Cork is a bit like leather but way, way better. It is derived from plants instead of animals; consider it nature's leather. The cork our bags are made from is harvested from cork oak trees in Portugal. The bark is carefully stripped from the tree, causing no damage, allowing the tree to naturally regenerate its bark and absorb carbon dioxide, a major contributor to global warming, in the process.
